Music Lessons, private and group
Acting Classes
Private lessons are currently offered to students of all ages and abilities in piano, voice, guitar, drums, violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet, oboe, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, french horn, steel drums, and harp. Students meet one-on-one with a qualified teacher who develops an individualized program of study for each student. In addition to weekly lessons, the students meet in small groups 3 times a year to explore various musical skills such as performance, style periods, theory, ear development. Students also delve into the theory behind music by studying theory in our music computer lab. Taking part in all aspects of the curriculum helps students perform more easily, broaden their musical skills, and make new musical friends. Students can start private lessons at any time of the year, so there is no need to wait to get started. Contact WCAOM to see which days and times are available.
Music Pups classes provide the earliest opportunity for musical training for children birth to age 4. Research has shown that early childhood is the critical time for music development in music as in language. Musical aptitude - the ease with which a child learns music - fluctuates in the first few years of life in response to the quality of a child's music environment. Children in a stimulating music environment receive an aptitude boost, so take advantage of these critical years.
